We couldn’t have pulled this off without help from our great partners, sponsors and friends!!!

First and foremost, we want to thank Vertical Merch. Their attention to detail, commitment to the show and straight-up skills made this whole event possible.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Iron Fist Clothing for providing all the high-quality, black tees! Iron Fist produces apparel, shoes and accessories utilizing artwork from some of the world’s best underground and street artists. Hence, they were the perfect fit for Back in Black.

Thanks to Scion and Revolt Marketing for hooking up the After-Party with the Crate Bros, Monk, Pauly Crush and DAVE NADA all the way from DC.

Thanks to Sandi and everyone at the Czar who worked double shifts and busted ass to keep everything running smoothly, DJ Muggles who held it down for 4 straight hours playing Bad Brains, Agent Orange, Suicidal Tendencies and other classics, Merchline for all the support, Justified Karma for all the great pics, and Solid Motive for videotaping the magic.

Big props to Tycho, ISO50’s music project for an amazing performance!

Thanks to our sponsors: Berentzen, Anarchy, DGP Printing, Coca Cola, Reax Magazine and Sticker Robot.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to all the artists in the show who are pushing the limits on design and everyone who came to the show! This was all for you!!!

Remember, you can still order shirts online till May 31st but then they are gone! Order here.

After-Party at the Czar

So if you were living under a rock, you might not know that this Saturday, May 16th is the Back in Black 2 show at the Czar in Ybor City.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. After you pick up a limited t-shirt (or two) at the Back in Black 2 T-shirt show head over to the adjoining rooms of the Czar for the “Back in Black 2” After-Party, sponsored by Scion and organized by REVOLT Marketing.

Headlining the party is DAVE NADA of Nadastrom, Dubsided, T&A and longstanding resident at Taxlo, Baltimore voted “best party in America” by Blender Magazine.

Plus, Pauly Crush of PULP The Party, dj Monk of Rabbit in the Moon/Hallucination and the Crate Bros.

FREE with Back in Black 2 t-shirt purchase or $5 for 21 and up ($7 under 21). The After-Party opens at 10:00PM and doesn’t end till 3am.

If we are lucky, maybe the Senator with be hanging out. For those of you that don’t know him, the Senator is a Ybor City party icon. He’s a 50-something who walks around in lingerie with a hard-on but he’s cool. In fact, there was a rumor a few months ago that the Senator was in a car accident and passed away. It ended up being just a rumor and when we saw him out at the Orpheum a week later, we cheered. It’s funny how some things become so normal and even endearing.

Here he is partying with Chris and Mary last night:

Adrian, don’t worry, we are still crossing our fingers that Peter Pan comes too.

See you Saturday!

New Back in Black 2 Promo Videos

Here’s another video put together by Joe Boccia, a fellow Florida graphic designer. Thanks man, we really appreciate it!

New artist interviews up: Godmachine, Jimiyo, Dan Mumford and Brian Morris

Check out new interviews from Godmachine, Jimiyo, Dan Mumford and Brian Morris up on www.backinblackapparel.com under Features.

There is also a sweet metal interview with Pale Horse, Godmachine, Dan Mumford and Brian Morris. Find out how many times we’ve worn corpse paint, our first metal show, what we’re listening to right now and more.

Speaking about metal, our friend Casey over at St. Petersblog turned us on to this “brutal” paper art by Julene Harrison:

SWEET!

Natty Light Parties, Water-Born Diseases and Pit Pull Prejudice

By Michelle

Our dog is charming and well-behaved, yet not everyone loves him. So we are relegated to taking our dog to the “redneck” beach (versus the luxurious dog beach with the shitty little dogs and undisciplined family dogs). St. Pete is a peninsula on a peninsula, so luckily there is a lot of access to water. Along the bay, you can drive up to the side of the road, stake claim to one of the little inlets, pull out the cooler and the barbecue, and enjoy the contaminated water and skin cancer.

Take a look at what we found when we pulled up:

Beer, naked ladies and sushi! I think we missed the party but Achilles had a good time:

I love this fucking town. Where else can you get all this in one place?!!

But back to pit bull prejudice, Brandon Bond (yep, the tattoo artist that everyone hates on) has just released a movie about the pit bulls he adopted from the Michael Vick compound, his journey with the dogs and why we need to protect them. There is also a lot of bullshit about Brandon Bond’s life but whatever…it’s for a good cause and I commend his dedication to the pit bull. If you are a dog lover, check out Vicktory to the Underdog.

I don’t really approve of dressing up your dog either but I picked up the “Michael Vick Sucks” dog tee anyway.

Mad thanks to Ryan Chase at The Rush Is Loud for all his help with the site!

To celebrate the launch of the site after the stressful day, weeks, months of planning and work, we headed to the Czar to watch Big Business kill it. I never knew three dudes could be that loud and Cody (ex-Murder City Devils) is a beast on the drums.

IF: Broken Bones Hat

Here’s a new hat I designed recently for Iron Fist, inspired by the old school, skateboarding days of the ‘Bones Brigade’. Turned out pretty killer. You can get one here.
