On Saturday, November 12th from 7PM – 11PM, Pale Horse Design and Gallery presents “Serious Sh!t,” a one-night only show, featuring:

• Horsebites, whose bold illustrations have made him a highly sought after artist in the music and apparel industry, will delight with a selection of gritty and nasty pen and ink drawings injected with color, caffeine and booze—the true definition of a Horsebites piece.
• Embear will showcase a new collection of ridiculous doodles inspired by her “wacky” childhood and unique point of view—some sweet, some absurd and some rated M for mature.
• Pale Horse questions conventional thinking and pushes cultural boundaries with highly detailed and ornate illustrations and engravings—retching with loud colors and psychedelic intensity.

Fierce, forceful and a little insane. This is Serious Sh!t.

On Friday night TAG (Toy Art Gallery) presented “Brain Evolution” – the Jumping Brain Custom Group Show to celebrate their grand opening in the beautiful new space on Melrose Ave. The opening was packed with tons of custom Jumping Brains, fans and artists. So much good food in LA! Yeah, I’m a dork and I take food pics… I won’t bore you with everything, but the first thing we ate in LA was late night chicken n’ waffles at Roscoe’s. Fuckin’ great! PS. Believe the hype about In-and-Out Burger. Shit is good!

On Saturday afternoon, walking down Melrose Ave., we got to check out the ongoing shows at Gallery 1988 & Munkey King. Below are shots of pieces from the Garbage Pale Kids exhibit at 1988 by Alex Pardee and MUNKONE.

The next night was the Pacsun + Inner-City Arts – Charity Art Auction with artwork by:  Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins, Angry Woebots, Jeff McMillan, Deph, Surge, Madsteez, Ritzy Periwinkle, and more.

All of the proceeds from the night were donated to Inner-City Arts who provides an amazing, free, youth facility for learning, achievement and creativity in the heart of Skid Row. This place was incredibly inspiring and I can’t think of a better charity for an art exhibit in LA. Below are some shots of the kid’s works on display. Learn more about Inner-City Arts here.

OK, so I’d seen these painted boards by Deph & Craola online before this show and thought they were really cool, but goddamn! Seeing them in person almost melted my eyes. Detail shots below:

After the show we caught the red eye back to Tampa and got home at 7am. Back to work!

Six-String Masterpieces is a charitable art exhibition featuring Dean Electric Guitars that have been hand-painted, illustrated and sculpted by leading musicians (like Billy Corgan, Kerry King and Ozzy) and contemporary visual artists (like Mark Ryden, Chris Mars and Colin Christian).

This weekend, exhibit curator Curse Mackey and exhibit sponsor Dean Guitars revive this exhibition, unveiling newly painted guitars alongside select works from the original show at the Mesa Art Center in Arizona. It will remain open till December 4th.

With over $200,000 raised thus far, Six-String Masterpieces raises awareness and support for music education and carries a message of anti-violence with its dedication to one of rock music’s greatest and most beloved guitar players, Dimebag Darrell Abbott. All proceeds from Six-String Masterpieces benefit LITTLE KIDS ROCK, one of America’s top music education charities.
