The Last Fiesta
‘The Last Fiesta’ is my 12-skateboard deck shout-out to Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’ with Jesus Christos and his 12 Luchador apostles getting down one last time. This piece was created for my solo exhibit Saints & Sinners, here at the Pale Horse Studio. Hand-made shadow box by Casey Paquet.
Christos Mysterio is also the latest edition to the Pale Horse t-shirt line and like he told his apostles at the last supper, he won’t be around for much longer! Grab your tee here.

Lovely! But whose mask is “Jesus” wearing?
you got a sweet mention on neatorama.com http://www.neatorama.com/2011/04/14/the-last-fiesta/
It is written – Man shall not live on enchiladas alone
Second vote to mass produce the decks. I would hang them in my dining room. Unbelievable work. Beautiful. Love the theme. I was routed via Boing Boing.
Love your stuff. beautiful clean lines man. keep going.
like WHOA! i absolutely love this representation of the last super…RAD! you’re a wicked artist. much respect
Absolutely amazing. Great combo with religion and luche libre. Great work!
Amazing. Jaw droppingly good. Brilliant. I know that this is a beautiful original piece, with an intended media and method of display. However, is there any way possible that you would release prints of this?
Any chance of licensing the set to tech-decks or one of the other mini-skateboard makers?
Quit being fffaginas and sell that sh!*t!!!
Donde esta el programa de burro??
Is there any way you would post a 1600 pix wide copy of the full image fo I can use it as a desktop background? I fucking LOVE this.
A great idea, beautifully executed.
Stunning. Do you plan on selling prints of this?
This artist is not aware of the simple principles of perspective. All the lines of the table are angled to the right from the edge of the table. The far right edge of the table is correct and the lines at that edge barely conform to the perspective making the vanishing point somewhere near the burrito wrap and the margarita. If the jesus is the focus of the composition then that would be the vanishing point and all perspective lines would eminate from that point, establishing the viewpoint of the viewer who is supposedly in front of the center of the table across from the jesus figure. The artist is clearly skilled at tattoo and other popular forms of illustration but needs some more study to be up to speed with the developments of art since the Renaissance. Keep up the good work and I await the mature work of this artist.
damn jim! i totally didnt even notice that shit! you have effectively ruined the piece for me. in fact i think you completely ruined all this artist’s work for me. not since pablo picasso have i seen such blatant disregard for accurate, academic perspective. I appreciate your hawk-eyed geometry-crime police work. I too await this artist’s “real” and “mature” work, and until then, I conscientiously refuse to go to any shows located at, OR NEAR, PaleHorse Design.
ps- Jim, I would love to see your work. What gallery is your show in?
that comment reminds me of the old joke: “how many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb? 12. one to do it, and 11 to stand there, arms folded saying ‘i could do that better.’”
There’s always a pretentious douchebag in the comments somewhere…
Dope! Beautiful! I wanna come in!
Please produce these! I would love them!
Wow… You’re an amazing designer & illustrator, Dude. Hadn’t heard about you until seeing this post, glad I have now!
[...] on skateboard decks. if i had tons of money i would try to purchase this right now for my house. Chris Parks must be one super cool dude. lets work [...]
Thanks for all the love and feedback! I probably won’t mass produce the boards but may look into prints. Keep you all posted.
I’d buy the decks as well but i’ll be happy to get a print. Any chance your stuff in your portfolio will come back in rotation for t shirts or prints. Thanks again for sharing your talent.
The last fiesta is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Man, to have that hanging on my wall…
Muy bien, compa.
I produce Lucha Libre events here in Denver and have been shooting a Lucha Libre Mexicana documentary for the last two years – this is simply fantastic. Demon, Santo, Wagner, etc. Why no Rey Misterio or Mil Mascaras? A Divine Mystery.
I will buy a print of this without question should you do lithos so please include me on your distro list.
Tremendous work!

@Mr. Franklin
Suck it. Let’s see your portfolio…
@Mr. Parks
Rock on! You have to do prints of this. I need something to hang over my couch in my living room!
[...] Chris Parks’ skateboard deck art of Jesus and his apostles shown as luchadores is awesome! And just in time for Easter. (More and better photos here.) [...]
they will simply never be able to mass produce these decks unless they are modified. there are lots of trademarks violations, such as beer logos. that not taking into account that every luchador has registered their names and characters. Santo (for example) is not a “public domain” character. there is an owner and you most ask him if you want to make use of the character. drawing are cool but I am not really surprised as I have seen this same “topic” in graffiti on walls of mexico city.
superb buddy
Awesome, but everybody knows (here in Mexico) that a real Luchador do not eat burritos! that’s a sin!
